WIAW 01/30

Welcome to What I ate (and did) Wednesday! Let’s go through a day in my life, a day when the gym is the first thing I do in the morning.

So I started today at about 4am. I didn’t end up crawling out of bed until 5:30am, I should have gotten up at 5 (since I was awake anyways) to get more gym time. But bed was warm, and this was what I had to face outside…

I hit the treadmill at exactly 6am for a good 45minute workout. I was sweatin bullets by the end of it. It felt amazing. A heck of a good burn today. I dedicated my run today to my grandpa who passed away one year ago today. There isn’t a day that passes where I don’t think about you or miss you. I love you grandpa. <3

I start work at 7:30am, so I was there about 10 minutes before. This is when the hunger starts kicking in! I had some water, a vitamin C and some oatmeal at 7:35am.

At 8:15am, I was reaching for my first apple.

At about 8:40am, I demonstrated kettle bell swings without the KB to one of my co-workers in the middle of the office! haha

9:20am I cracked into my dried cranberries. I definitely never bring enough food for the days I work out…

work3

11:15am more oatmeal.

work2

12:30pm I finished off the cranberries.

1:00pm I ate my last apple, the last of my food. Good thing I only have one more hour left. I was starting to get so hungry and the headache was starting.

Left work at 2:00pm and grabbed a couple things at the grocery store.

Once I got home… well basically this happened.

2013 Goals

Well well, Christmas is over and the end of 2012 is nearly here. Where did the time go?

We enjoyed Christmas with family this year! Other than the stomach flu going around, which most people ended up getting. The bf was pretty sick, so I was taking care of him and luckily I have not gotten sick myself. whew. I’ve been taking extra vitamin C daily to keep my immune system up.

Being that it is almost 2013, looks like its time for some goal setting for the New Year!

Here are some of my goals:

1) Run my 2nd Sask half marathon and PR (May 26, 2013)

2) Complete my first sprint triathlon (June 30, 2013)

3) Run my 3rd half marathon in Regina, QCM, and hopefully have another small PR (Sept 8, 2013)

4) Complete my Personal Training certification

5) Complete my Holistic Nutritionist certification

6) Explore more into veganism

7) Work away at my 101 in 1001 list

What are some of your goals?

If you have a blog, and have written a post with your 2013 goals, add your link to your comment!

what a day

oh boy what a day, but I will get to that in a minute.

Happy: Yesterday was my first swim class in preparation for my first triathlon next year. It went pretty good! My coaches said I was doing well, but I know I’ve still got a long ways to go yet. But it is all very exciting to be taking this big step!!

Not so happy: On the way to swim last night it was freezing rain, the roads were absolutely brutal and icy, I didn’t think it could get worse. Once I was done swim and was leaving, I looked outside and it had snowed… Oh boy, fresh snow on top of ice now. The drive home was even worse. And THEN…. ya it gets worse, I woke up this morning to literally a half a foot of snow outside. Roads were even MORE horrible. Plus there had been no plows and no salt/sand trucks out at all, good job Saskatoon.

Some roads right now are literally pure, shiny ice.. quite dangerous. And to top it all off, some jerk parked in front of the walkway going to my work, so I had to maneuver my way around it and fell on the ice. Now my lower back is sore and I sort of tweaked a muscle or two in my groin area.. ouch. Oh boy oh boy what a day it has been indeed.

I hope you have all had a better day than me!

Let’s leave things on a happy note today though!
