hey guys, so i’m posting my very first vlog! yay! maybe, I dont know, i’m not a fan of listening to myself but hopefully you can bare with me haha
So I filmed this vlog on a park bench seconds after I finished a PR 5K run (yay go me). My nose seems to run a lot when I am running, so just ignore all the post-run sniffles.
I am so pumped I PR’d, I know I’m undertrained for my second half marathon in just over 2 weeks, but this made me happy and excited. This was my first 5K that I didn’t walk at all. insanely proud about that! This is a definite improvement over a year ago, so happy to be making progress.
Previous 5K time: 36:07
New 5K PR time: 34:52
This run was proudly #poweredbybits
Now I am relaxing in my CEP compression socks and rehydrating with a chocolate zico
Is there an award for worst blogger ever?… I think a 2013 goal of mine should be to blog more often, how does that sound?!
So anyways, I wanted to talk about the morning… you know the time of day where the world is still sleeping and it seems totally absurd to be anywhere else but in your comfy bed.
Recently I’ve decided that I was going to get up shortly after 5am to get a head start on the day and go to the gym. I did this twice last week, and got in two great 5K walk/runs. (still working my way back into running after a long hiatus). And I must say it felt AWESOME to have my workout done before 7am. I always found myself thinking of any and every excuse by the end of the day to not go to the gym, now that doesn’t happen.
Have you ever thought about getting in your workout first thing? Do you make up excuses after work to not go?
Here’s some benefits of waking up before the world:
-increased productivity-time for exercise (no need to make up excuses at the end of the day)
-the drive to work is quieter
-the gym is usually quieter
-watching a beautiful sunrise (maybe not so much in Saskatchewan during the winter, since its dark until 9am haha)
