Wow. this was a long time coming hey? I ran the Mogathon 10K on June 24th, 2012.
Here’s my quick recap:
I chose to donate to the Saskatoon SPCA, there was a choice as to where your money was going.
I was late starting the race, as I was trying to pay for parking and the machine doesn’t take the new loonies (#CanadianProblems am I right? haha). So I was like whatever, a parking ticket was only $10 if I got it, no big deal. (thankfully I didn’t!). I headed over to the start line really quick, and I could see a lot of people with blue race bibs, and no green ones. I was like oh crap.. Someone told me, the 10K people already started! haha so I was off like lightening. I caught up in not too long, thankfully.
The heat was almost too much for me, I wish there were some clouds out that morning. Luckily I brought my bottle of gatorade along with me, those water stations didn’t seem close enough as I went along. At a couple of water stations they had little sponges with cold water, it was pretty much amazing.
Fourth race of the year is now complete. It feels amazing to be doing this.
Official Time: 1hr 23min 48sec
I really feel that I would have kicked some major butt and PR’d if it wasn’t for it being so dang hot. I’m not used to running in the heat. All my other races it was cool and cloudy or raining. Ah well. Live and Learn.
Lots of sweet swag in the race package
